Does anyone else know about the 3 bodies that were found in a drifting lifeboat by a passing ship 4 weeks after the Titanic sank? Apparantly, after the Carpathia picked up the survivors the captain let 2 lifeboats adrift empty. He took the survivors back to New York but first asked the captain of the Californian to stay behind and check for more survivors. Captain Lord's assistant noticed some movement of black figures on a distant iceflow and pointed it out to the captain, at which the captain said it was most likely seals and the ship left the area for Halifax.
Were the bodies found in the lifeboat 4 weeks later the bodies of the moving figures on the iceflow and had they managed to get into an empty lifeboat passing by? When their autopsies were carried out they were found to have died of starvation, not hyperthermia. Pieces of cork from their cork belts on their life jackets were found in their mouths.
