FORMER ACTRESS A SUICIDE

Mrs. Florence Worden MacGregor Leaps Seven Stories to Death in New York


New York, Dec. 7---[Special]---Mrs. Florence Worden MacGregor, former actress and wife of Edgar J. MacGregor, one of the stage directors for the Frohmans, left her husband at the dinner table in their apartment tonight and leaped from a seventh story window to death. She had suffered from nervous despondency for several months. She was a niece of Rear Admiral Worden, commander of the Monitor in its battle with the Merrimac in the civil war.

MONITOR-MERRIMAC BATTLE VETERAN, I. N. HEWLING, DIES

Covington, Ky., Dec. 24---(AP)---Isaac Newton Hewling, believed to have been one of the last survivors of the battle between the Monitor and the Merrimac, died in a hospital here last night. He was 91.
